Chchch Changes..

I've avoided putting this out for quite some time. I wanted to be really sure of my decision before I made any announcement. For those of you who don't know, I moved my headquarters back to Old Lyme this past winter. It was a tough decision but one I knew had to be done. I still work in the Wilton, Ridgefield, Westport area - I'm just not there full time anymore. This leads me to the next change. For the time being I will no longer be accepting weddings. I am going to exclusively focus on my children's location portraiture. Keep a look out for some changes in that area and hopefully a new website too. In the meantime I have images from Elise's wedding this winter cominig up (she's been patient and deserves a little of the spot light!) and some other projects I've been working on. Stay Tuned!

Dang Email!

My email was all out of whack yesterday. So if you tried to contact me I received nothing. As far as the tech guys can tell all of yesterdays mail is lost in space. They tell me the internet is funny that way and it just happens... Makes you wonder where all those lost emails go to and do they recombine themselves into completely different messages? Also is there one poor guy who receives all these lost messages... In short - if you don't hear back from me please contact me again!

Angie's List

Ooh I'm a blogging fool today but I just had to pass this on. My sister has been telling me about Angie's list for about a year now. It's an online resource for just about any service you can think of - from handyman to babysitting agency. The only way to be a referred vendor is to have a past client refer you - ie I can't put myself on but one of my brides could. They even have a dog house and mediation area so you know who to avoid. Well they've just started a New York - Fairfield County area list and I'm really excited. I signed up the other day - I've been trying to find a drycleaner forever! Check them out at Angie's List

New Resource for Brides

I'm really excited about this new up and coming resource I came across called WeddingWire. It a place where couples and vendors can meet up. Couples can search for various wedding vendors and also see reviews on the vendors they're interested in. I'm always looking for new ways for my couples to reach me, but also easy ways for them to get the information they're looking for. I'll be adding a links section to the blog soon - but in the meantime check it out!

Ok ok I've been promising for over a year now to put up a new website and I've done it! Well almost.... I've spent the last week diligently working on the new site and it's about 1/2 way there. Thing is I couldn't stand the old one anymore - so I took it down. Here's what you'll see when you go to my site.

A week in Chicago

I just got back from a 4 day seminar in Chicago. It was fantastic! Lectures were given by Jeff and Julia Woods, Becker, Cliff Mautner and Laura Novak. I learned sooo much and now have information overload!!! It wasn't all work - we managed to sneak out and have a little fun too. A few of us got a luxery box and attended the White Soxs game. I grew up watching games in the Fenway bleachers -so this was a whole new way to go. Fun night - White Soxs lost - unfortunately so did the Red Soxs. Also had time to slide out to Navy Pier - eat dinner at Bubba Gump (shrimp of course!) and watch some fireworks. Here are a few images from that night.





The best part of the week was meeting fellow photographers and talking "business" all week. I encourage anyone who owns/runs a small business to attend a seminar - you make great connections but also develope your own support group - awesome!

Credit Card News

I'm happy to announce that my photography business is now accepting credit cards (visa, mc, amex and discover). I put it off for so long mostly because everything I do is on location and the logistics of a terminal was complex. Along comes Authorize.net and now where ever I have internet I also have cc services! I've already processed a few orders this way and it works great. Internet is amazing - hard to remember what the world was like without it!
